Homemade Hanukkah gelt
When the sun goes down and dessert cravings go up, who can resist a bissel chocolate? Too often, chocolate Hanukkah Gelt is plain and unimaginative. Our Hanukkah Gelt recipe is a new take on this traditional treat that will delight everyone and make you look like a kitchen maven. Go ahead, show off a little!

Ingredients
- 2 cups high-quality dark chocolate chips
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ cup dried fruit or nuts, chopped
- 2 non-stick mini muffin tins
- Colored aluminum foil
Directions
- Warm chocolate chips in the microwave (or double boiler) until they’re almost melted, then remove them from heat and stir until completely melted. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Spoon into 2 non-stick mini muffin tins, to desired thickness.
- Add chopped dried fruit or nuts.
- Pop out chocolate coins, wrap each coin in a small square of colored foil, and store them in an airtight container.
